Gina Rockenwagner Makes Stuff

This quilt came about as truly the happiest of collaborations. Neighbor and dear friend Leah Goren gave me a stack her beautiful printed fabrics and free reign to make whatever I wanted! Looking at Leah’s prints gives me so much joy that I wanted to express in this quilt. I think Leah feels the same way when she paints. Because we share this joy in making things, I am sure this is the first of many joint projects together.

Cubes and stripes quilt

Making stuff in mid summer often comes out of necessity and not desire. It’s hot, uncomfortable, I don’t feel like doing anything, and yet I must make a huge quilt! The bigger the better! This quilt came on like an unstoppable force.

I made this one completely intuitively, with Frank Ocean playing on repeat.

Bauhaus inspired quilt. Because we’ll always have Berlin.
All things are in flux, except my love of deeply saturated color. And ruffles.
